Ibeju Lekki starts from an area called Majek. Majek is about 500 meters from  Sangotedo.  As it is, Sangotedo, Oko-addo, Abraham Adesanya, Ikota , Chevron down to Victoria Island  are closed in Etiosa local government . Ibeju Lekki therefore spans the left and right of all the lands after Majek ( beyond Sangotedo) and up to about six kilometers after the Ibeju Bridge before you get to Epe Local government.

The Lekki Free Trade Zone

The Lekki Free Trade Zone is indeed the biggest of the 19 Free Trade zones Chinese investors have presently outside China and it has all the features to make it one of the most successful Free Trade Zones in Africa. About 48 investors have already committed to investing close to $1.1 billion in the zone.


Lekki Free Trade Zone has attracted $1.1 billion (N170.5 billion) investment commitment from 48 investors.

 
 


The lekki Deap Sea Port
Due to the inadequacy of facilities at the Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports , there was need for another seaport in the state ofLagos. To bridge this gap, The Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Federal Government through the Nigerian Ports Authority and a private investor – Lekki Port Lekki Free Trade Zone Enterprise, LPLE, has commenced the development of the Lekki Deep Seaport in Akodo, Ibeju-Lekki Local Council.
 

When completed, the port would relieve the pressure on the Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports and would also support business activities at the Lekki Free Trade Zone. 

The construction of the port is expected to last for about four years and more than 10,000 jobs are projected to be created directly and indirectly during the construction period while more than 169,000 jobs would be generated directly and indirectly when it becomes fully operational, according to government sources. 
 
 
  
 
Lekki International Airport
As the Lekki Free Trade Zone would soon become a haven for investment, the government saw the need to have an international airport in the area.Therefore, the state government has commenced works on the development of the Lekki-Epe International Airport to complement activities at the zone and also provide alternative air transport services in the state.

Preliminary works on the airport project have commenced with the clearing of 150 hectares (runway), 4.5km of the access road and 9km of perimeter road. 

Also, In line with the policy of the Lagos State government on public-private partnership which has enabled the completion of several projects like the lekki ikoyi link bridge, Lekki toll road, BRT etc the proposed airport will be built and managed by private investors.
 The process for the selection of private investors to develop and manage the airport has commenced, with a team of local and internationally acclaimed consultants namely: Stanbic IBTC (Financial Advisers), Arup PTY (Technical Consultants), Norton Rose (Off-shore Legal Consultants) and Banwo and Ighodalo (Local Legal Consultants) have been engaged.
